The Mechanical Engineer Technician will provide technical support and engineering services for Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC), Code 251. The Mechanical Engineer Technician will perform the following:

  • Provide full-time onsite support as well as by the drink support as tasked via separate correspondence for the following Code 251 cognizant equipment , US Naval auxiliary equipment to include but not limited to: Fire Pumps, Fuel/Lube Oil Pumps and Purifiers, Distilling Plants , JP-5 Service/Transfer/Cargo/Stripping Pumps and Purifiers, Main and Auxiliary Condensers, Main Condensate Pumps, Main Seawater Circ Pumps, Potable Water Pumps and Systems, SSDG/SSGTG Pumps, and various types of pumps and piping associated with mentioned systems. Motor Operated Valves, Sea Valves, Remote Operating Gear, Pitswords, and various general valves associated with naval shipboard auxiliary equipment.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of experience within last twenty-five (25) years in the mechanical operation, repair, maintenance and assessment of US Naval auxiliary equipment to include but not limited to: Fire Pumps, Fuel/Lube Oil Pumps and Purifiers, Distilling Plants , JP-5 Service/Transfer/Cargo/Stripping Pumps and Purifiers, Main and Auxiliary Condensers, Main Condensate Pumps, Main Seawater Circ Pumps, Potable Water Pumps and Systems, SSDG/SSGTG Pumps, and various types of pumps and piping associated with mentioned systems. Motor Operated Valves, Sea Valves, Remote Operating Gear, Pitswords, and various general valves associated with naval shipboard auxiliary equipment.

  • Technical representatives on this task shall have and maintain a valid CPR Certification from a Nationally Accepted organization.

  • Maintain a valid Passport.

  • Complete all designed training as required by MARMC

Will be part of the Aegis Modernization Team supporting Aegis Combat Systems Ship Installation Test and Trials in Norfolk, Virginia and with our Navy customer. Primary responsibility centers around the installation, test and repair of Combat System equipment (ORDALTS, SHIPALTS, FMB's) on USN and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) surface combatants throughout the world. Will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and will also be required to submit to drug screening per company policy. Extensive travel will be required; as much as 25%. Desired Skills: US Navy 2M and 3M training Ability to read to and interpret equipment drawings, Wire Connection List's, and Installation Control Drawings Post high school education in a scientific or technical field of study. Knowledge of and experience with Aegis systems in particular AWS Operational Readiness and Test System (ORTS) is a plus.
