The Mechanical Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager. Responsible for supporting the reduction of manufacturing cost while increasing productivity by utilizing various Mechanical Engineering principals in process control, tooling, fixture, and equipment design under the direction of Engineering Manager. Improve manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment & manufacturing processes for component fabrication, CNC, and assembly. Collaborate with and mentor less experienced engineers; providing constructive feedback, support, and encouragement to foster their professional growth and technical competency.

Responsibilities:

  • Support of daily production, working closely with production team to drive all engineering actions across fabrication, CNC & assembly to improve manufacturing processes & throughput.

  • Work with appropriate department personnel to coordinate Engineering changes

  • Create and maintain component and tooling documentation and prints

  • Support the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new equipment and technologies, conducting feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and risk assessments to support decision-making.

  • Work with Product Managers to coordinate changes and/or new product lines

  • Participate in Kaizen events and support team activities

  • Prepare specifications and request of quotations and participate in tooling improvements and layouts.

  • Apply advanced problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and engineering issues encountered during project execution, proposing innovative solutions as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • 5+ years related experience - preferably in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, design methodologies and industry standards, with proficiency in CAD software and analysis tools. (SolidWorks preferably)

  • Knowledge of PC's and various software applications (Microsoft Office, etc.)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and provide constructive feedback to team members.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a proactive and resourceful approach to addressing engineering challenges

  • Requires long periods of sedentary work.

  • Requires some traveling.

  • Requires repetitive upper body movement - keyboard and monitor use.
