What is the Job?
Investigates personnel and equipment problems, recurring problems, new equipment, and procedures. Provides recommendations to address the issues.
Recommends and implements manufacturing improvement projects, including line improvements and process flow improvements.
Works closely with the Maintenance Department to provide appropriate planning and scheduling.
May have some responsibility for purchasing, inventory, and budget controls, as it relates to parts and equipment.
Coordinates and oversees facility projects.
Develops plans for equipment installation and upgrades.
Develops and implements a production maintenance program for the plant.
May assist with plant operations.
May design machinery and parts to be machined.
May prepare drawings, plans, and specifications for parts and installation.
All other tasks and/or responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
0 - 3 years' experience, manufacturing experience preferred.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred.
Five (5) years in the gypsum industry preferred.
Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

At our Newark location, we make Gypsum Wallboard. Your job as a Mechanical Engineer is to use engineering skills and experience to develop plans for the maintenance and enhancement of plant equipment and plant process improvements.

Salary offered depends on experience: $75,000 - $95,000 annualized salary.
