  • Provide quote support to the sales team for new opportunities

  • Gather and review design requirements as it pertains to the overall system

  • Apply basic engineering principles and analysis tools to conceptualize a system solution

  • Direct the work of drafting & design resources to document manufacturing and test instruction

  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to create a fully aligned system solution

  • Monitor and engage with system assembly and checkout operations

  • Serve a lead ME role for projects that can range up to multi-million dollars

  • Opportunities exist for travel for customer design review meetings or system installation and acceptance.


  • B.S. Mechanical Engineering

  • 3.0 GPA or higher

  • Experience with SolidWorks or Pro E

  • Basic knowledge of machine design, vibration theory, structural mechanics, materials science, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.

  • Knowledge in the application of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), vibration analysis and simulation tools, such as ANSYS, MATLAB and MathCAD desired.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Internship or extra curricular activities in solar cars/vehicles/bicycles/motor sports/concrete/material testing/mechanics

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to travel 10%

To perform and direct approved self-initiated or assigned technical programs leading to innovative applications and extensions of existing and new products and technologies of major importance to Stratasys. Responsibilities: * Design and optimization of mechanical components, assemblies, fractional horsepower drivetrains, and enclosures. Components include shafts, couplings, flanges, housings, gears, drive belts, clutches, bearings, etc. * Analysis of mechanical systems, including Finite Element analysis for structural, fatigue, thermal, vibration, air flow, and acoustics. * Interfaces with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assembly. * Confer with system engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information. * Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications. * Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications. * Understands and consistently follows all established protocols, drawing standards, and procedures covering documentation and data for releasing of components and assemblies through their various life cycle phases. * Produces and maintains accurate bills of material (BoMs) and authors engineering change orders (ECOs) on products while ensuring accuracy of links between CAD and the ERP system. * Informs developmental team of important matters, including schedule, budget and performance. * Communicates regularly with design engineers, designers, and manufacturing engineers, and creates and sustains a good working relationship and enhances the quality and quantity of work performed. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. * 3+ years of experience in development, design, testing and operation of multidisciplinary machines. * 1+ years of electronic equipment and computer hardware and software knowledge. * 1+ years of 3D CAD modeling, FE analysis, Microsoft Office products, and an ERP system. * 1+ years of design for manufacturability. * 1+ years of injection molded part design, sheet metal fabrication, machining, die cast, and weldments. Preferred Qualifications * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Excellent problem solving and time management skills * Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge. * Self-motivated and highly organized. * Background in high volume low cost consumer products preferred. * Ability to work well with others.
