Mechanical Engineer - MA - 1078Our Georgetown, MA client, a well-established industry leader in the manufacture of HVAC products and accessories, is currently seeking an Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer to work with the Engineering Team to ensure their products are designed, built and delivered right every time.  Some of these products include roof curbs and adapters, specialized curbs, field installed economizers and air management add-ons.  Custom design and field services are also available.  The ideal candidate will be involved with the designing, developing, and testing of all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery. Candidate will apply knowledge of engineering principles to design products.  Must be competent in general engineering processes and procedures (strength of materials, fluids).  May be involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical products. Has some knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the HVAC industry.  Works under immediate supervision.Responsibilities

• Responsible for the design, development, implementation, and analysis of sheet metal and structural steel equipment
• Performs engineering design evaluations
• Attends product review meetings
• Creates drawings using SolidWorks and/or Auto Cad
• Performs engineering calculations
• Technical support for factory floor
• Performs customer site visits
• Creates Bill of Materials
• Creates new product design and reviews/enhances existing designs
• Works with outside vendors/fabricators

Typical Education and Relevant Experience

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and 0-3+ years relevant experience
• Associates degree in mechanical engineering and 3-5+ years relevant experience
• Experience in the HVAC industry or in a related area encouraged but not required
• Computer proficiency, Microsoft Office, working knowledge of SolidWorks and/or AutoCad
• Basic electrical/controls knowledge desired but not required
