Nature of Work:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated SkyCam Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a SkyCam Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and maintenance of our SkyCam systems. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to ensure our SkyCam platforms operate flawlessly and capture stunning aerial footage for our clients.
Examples of work performed:
Design and Development: Collaborate with the engineering team to design, develop, and optimize SkyCam mechanical components and systems. This includes camera mounts, gimbals, robotic arms, and other mechanical elements.
Prototyping: Build and test prototypes to validate design concepts and identify areas for improvement. Iterate on designs to achieve optimal performance and reliability.
CAD Modeling: Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings of mechanical components and assemblies. Ensure designs are manufacturable and meet safety standards.
Material Selection: Select appropriate materials for SkyCam components to achieve the desired strength, weight, and durability characteristics.
Testing and Validation: Develop testing protocols and conduct rigorous testing to ensure SkyCam systems meet performance specifications and safety standards.
Collaboration: Work closely with electrical engineers, software engineers, and other team members to integrate mechanical systems with electronic and software components.
Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of design changes, test results, and project progress. Prepare technical reports and presentations as needed.
Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to incorporate advancements into SkyCam designs.

Prior experience in live-event, field technical operations is a plus.
Potential for 50% travel
Lift 50 lbs. daily
Work in extreme weather conditions

A Valid Driver's license is required.
Qualifications:
Minimum
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
Proven experience in mechanical design and engineering, particularly in robotics, automation, or camera systems.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and familiarity with simulation and analysis tools.
Strong knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes.
Experience with rapid prototyping and testing methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Preferred
Experience with aerial or drone technology is a plus.
Knowledge of control systems and mechatronics.
Familiarity with safety standards and regulations related to aerial equipment.
Previous experience in the entertainment or broadcasting industry.
Ability to acquire or produce and maintain a valid driver's license and meet company vehicle driving standards.
