Leidos is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to be a member of the HR3DGI team with interest in aircraft structure design and analysis.
The engineer will assist with aircraft design work related to aircraft modifications and antenna/sensor mounting provisions. Candidates will learn the steps involved in the build process, from conceptual design to final assembly and installation on the aircraft.
Candidates should have a willingness to work in a shop environment to get hands on experience with the aircraft modifications. Candidates will also be supporting drawing revisions to capture changes in final installation design. Ideal candidates will also have a background in CAD design and machine fabrication techniques.
Current students (sophomore and above) pursuing Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related field.
Minimum GPA of 3.0
CAD software experience
Candidate must be able to obtain a DOD Secret security clearance which requires US citizenship.
SolidWorks design experience
Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience
