Job Description:

Leidos is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to be a member of the HR3DGI team with interest in aircraft structure design and analysis.

The engineer will assist with aircraft design work related to aircraft modifications and antenna/sensor mounting provisions. Candidates will learn the steps involved in the build process, from conceptual design to final assembly and installation on the aircraft.

Candidates should have a willingness to work in a shop environment to get hands on experience with the aircraft modifications. Candidates will also be supporting drawing revisions to capture changes in final installation design. Ideal candidates will also have a background in CAD design and machine fabrication techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Current students (sophomore and above) pursuing Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related field.

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

  • CAD software experience

  • Candidate must be able to obtain a DOD Secret security clearance which requires US citizenship.

Desired Skills:

  • SolidWorks design experience

  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience
