Heatcraft products are primarily used to preserve food and other perishables in supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants, warehouses and distribution centers, in addition to other applications such as data centers, pharmaceutical and industrial process cooling.

Location: Stone Mountain, GA (Hybrid-Monday through Thursday in the office with the option to work at home on Friday)

Job Description

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

As the Mechanical Engineer III, you'll design, fabricate, modify and evaluate complex mechanical and electro-mechanical components, sub-systems and systems. The person in this position may also provide work leadership for lower-level employees.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare design specifications, analyses and recommendations for presentation and approval.

  • Technical responsibility for planning, organizing and conducting technical projects or phases of projects involving design and development.

  • Coordinate the efforts of drafters/designers, engineering technicians and machine shop personnel as required by assigned projects.

  • Conduct independent technical investigations involving the origination or modification of material.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • At least 5 years related experience.

  • Understanding of the practical application of engineering science and technology.

  • Experience with analytical and CAD software.

  • Requires knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong Refrigeration/HVAC background

  • Experience with Commercial equipment design

  • Successful track record in handling and executing of Product launches

  • Experience with Lab testing/qualification of products and components

  • Can create test plans and work closely with lab personnel for Performance/reliability and safety agency (UL, NSF) related testing

  • Strong background in working with Manufacturing and Operations

  • Exposure to Regulations around Refrigeration/HVAC and agency requirements

  • Experience with using SAP or similar business system tool

  • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks including schedule and goal management

  • Ability to lead engineering tasks for multi-stage product development projects

  • Ability to work with component suppliers and cross functional teams

  • Self-driven/highly motivated

  • Can-do attitude

The Compensation range for this position is approximately $91,000 - $125,400 and will be based on the candidate's qualification, experience, and education.
