Mechanical Engineer III

Purpose:

• Hill Technical Solutions (HTS), a division of Valkyrie Enterprises, is searching for an Mechanical Engineer III in Huntsville, AL.

Job Description:

• Leads and oversees the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products.

• Has strong analytical and reasoning skills.

• Conducts advanced research and applies to assigned projects.

• Leads, plans, and conducts trade studies, analysis of alternatives, and capability analysis.

• Supports multiple engineering tasks simultaneously.

• Leads small teams.

• Collaborates continuously and mentors team members and others.

• Familiar with configuration management principles.

• Understands advanced system design principles.

• Assists in the resolution of complex problems.

• Ability to interact professionally in a badgeless customer environment.

• Has excellent presentation skills.

• Possesses the ability to prepare and deliver briefings and supporting data to immediate customer and senior leaders.

• Frequent contact with internal and external customers, peers, and management.

• Contributes to completion of milestones associated with specific projects. Failure to achieve results or erroneous decisions or recommendations may cause delays in program schedules and may result in the allocation of additional resources.

Qualifications:

• Must have BS in STEM and 10-15 years related experience. Advanced degrees may be considered for credit of additional experience to qualify for next level Labor Category per contract guidelines.

• Must have mechanical and hardware design experience.

• Must have CAD knowledge including engineering drawing development and dimensioning.

• Must have familiarization with hardware and electrical fabrication, integration, and sub-component and system testing.

• Must have MS Office Suite experience.

• Must have the ability to conduct research and perform analysis on requirements, capability, and operational effects.

• Must have a passion for solving problems and providing workable solutions.

• Must have strong analytical and reasoning skills and ability to visualize processes and outcomes.

• Must have outstanding all-round communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.

• Must be highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.

• Must have proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.

• Must have strong customer service orientation

Desired Qualifications:

• SolidWorks CAD, preferred.

• Systems engineering and/or application, preferred.

• Army programs (Aviation and Missile Center, Space and Missile Defense Command), preferred.

• Army fixed and/or transportable rocket launcher design and operation, preferred.

• MS in STEM field preferred.

Security Requirements:

• Must have an Active DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to maintain the clearance.

Travel Requirements:

• Occasional Travel; 15% or less.

• If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Pay Range: $107,604 - $173,854 per hour
