How will you make an impact?

As a Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible for the design, engineering, and development of machines used in the manufacturing of products used in the biotech and biopharmaceutical industries.

What will you do?

  • Provide engineering solutions for moderate to difficult, technical, engineering-related problems.

  • Modify equipment as part of continuous improvement.

  • Create and manage mechanical drawings for various tooling and machines.

  • Ensure mechanical drawings meet standards.

  • Project management of assigned projects.

  • Interface with and provide support to process engineering, quality, purchasing, manufacturing, sales, and marketing groups.

  • Perform FMEA and risk analysis.

  • Produce solid models using Solidworks and conduct engineering analysis of components/systems.

  • Responsible for materials and component selection, specification, testing, and analysis.

  • Generation of specifications and documentation.

  • Create and execute engineering test plans, validation and verification and engineering reports.

  • Interact with customer base on projects, problem solving and processes.

  • Communicates with diverse audiences and internally with higher levels.

  • Travel as required to perform job functions.

How will you get here?

Education/ Experience

  • BS Degree in engineering - mechanical, manufacturing, or materials with 3+ years experience.
  • MS Degree in engineering with 2+ years experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the medical device, biopharmaceutical, or cell therapy industries preferred.

  • Experience with machine safety systems.

  • Experience with qualification protocol generation and execution including: User Requirement Specifications (URS), Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ) and Performance Qualification (PQ).

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Software proficiency: Solidworks, PDM, MS office programs, FEA.

  • Ability to rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities.

  • Excellent communication, leadership and problem solving skills.

  • Metal design experience and process knowledge for the following: machined, formed, stamped, welded, extruded.

  • Plastics design experience and processing knowledge for the following: injection molding, extrusion, blow/cast films, and plastic welding.

  • Material selection for the biopharmaceutical or medical device industries.

  • Drawing generation, engineering standards, testing, and FMEAs.

  • Understanding and experience in project management including ability to accomplish and influence project progress through others.

The Electrical Engineer II/ Controls Engineer II that will design improvements, document and assemble, test, and validate improvements on existing and new equipment for clean room applications. It may require hands-on control panel wiring along with in-person solving problems. The role will reside in Millersburg, PA. What you will do. * Design, document, assemble and test modifications to existing equipment, debug and qualify new equipment, electro-mechanical systems, control panels and controls systems. * Engage and support both local design/build machines and potential for minor remote project involvement at vendors where they are responsible for design/build. * Provide hands-on control panel wiring and remote troubleshooting. * Understand, initialize, design, trouble shoot and repair AC and DC drives and controllers. * Understand and be able to program PID control logic. * PLC programming, HMI programming, vision system programming. * Support the development of electrical power and control systems that meet EMI and electrical safety compliance requirements and support compliance testing. * Support and understand how to design panel to meet EMC emission requirements. * Develop, design, & test simple-to-complex automation systems for OEM manufacturing. * Document schematics, panel layout drawings, BOMs, ROHS document certification, UL, ETL, CE certificate of compliance and CE technical files. * Proactively communicate project status, issues & risks to the project team and to management. * Oversee review of product design engineering for compliance with engineering principles, organization standards, and related user requirement specifications. * Able to travel as needed to other Single Use Technology sites and vendor sites. How you will get here. Education/ Experience * M.S.E.E. with 1 year of system integration and commercialization design experience as an electrical engineer; OR B.S.E.E. AND 3 years of system integration and commercialization design experience as an electrical engineer. Education equivalency may be considered with additional years of related industry experience. * Instrumentation, data acquisition and data analysis. * Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical and/or SolidWorks Electrical. * Familiar with SolidWorks; and with PDM. * Familiar with NEC standards contained in NFPA70 and NFPA79. * Proficient in programming with the following: Yaskawa Servos, Lab View, MATLAB, MiniTab or JMP. * Experience with qualification protocol generation and execution. * Knowledge of cGMP, cGDP. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities * Ability to create P&ID designs and documentation; to configure Ethernet network and devices; read and understand electrical schematics and manufacturing drawings. * Ability to program HMI and PLC computers;; create and modify CAD drawings. * Experienced in management of BOMs and working within UL, ETL, CE/ROHS/REACH/WEEE standards. * Familiar with NEC standards contained in NFPA70. * Proficient in programming some of all the following or similar applications: RSLogix 500 / 5000, Wonderware InTouch, FactoryTalk View HMI, or Servo drive programming. * Comfortably working on small projects lasting a few days and large projects extending over one year.
