How will you make an impact?
As a Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible for the design, engineering, and development of machines used in the manufacturing of products used in the biotech and biopharmaceutical industries.
What will you do?
Provide engineering solutions for moderate to difficult, technical, engineering-related problems.
Modify equipment as part of continuous improvement.
Create and manage mechanical drawings for various tooling and machines.
Ensure mechanical drawings meet standards.
Project management of assigned projects.
Interface with and provide support to process engineering, quality, purchasing, manufacturing, sales, and marketing groups.
Perform FMEA and risk analysis.
Produce solid models using Solidworks and conduct engineering analysis of components/systems.
Responsible for materials and component selection, specification, testing, and analysis.
Generation of specifications and documentation.
Create and execute engineering test plans, validation and verification and engineering reports.
Interact with customer base on projects, problem solving and processes.
Communicates with diverse audiences and internally with higher levels.
Travel as required to perform job functions.
How will you get here?
Experience in the medical device, biopharmaceutical, or cell therapy industries preferred.
Experience with machine safety systems.
Experience with qualification protocol generation and execution including: User Requirement Specifications (URS), Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ) and Performance Qualification (PQ).
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Software proficiency: Solidworks, PDM, MS office programs, FEA.
Ability to rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities.
Excellent communication, leadership and problem solving skills.
Metal design experience and process knowledge for the following: machined, formed, stamped, welded, extruded.
Plastics design experience and processing knowledge for the following: injection molding, extrusion, blow/cast films, and plastic welding.
Material selection for the biopharmaceutical or medical device industries.
Drawing generation, engineering standards, testing, and FMEAs.
Understanding and experience in project management including ability to accomplish and influence project progress through others.
