The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for complex projects and challenging engineering assignments. Collaborates with Engineering professionals and other cross-functional departments. This position develops new products and improve the quality and cost of current products from concept design through implementation into production (analyzing, understanding design requirements, designing components to meet requirements, and testing the system to validate the design). Leads system troubleshooting efforts, creates and evaluates technological developments, investigates feasibility of new engineering techniques, components, processes, and materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for creating concept design using SolidWorks 3D CAD software, converting into manufacturing prints, preparing bills of materials, and releasing them through engineering change release process.
Partners with manufacturing, vendors, and suppliers to develop components for prototype devices or systems, meeting cost targets for the project.
Responsible for supporting existing products production lines by improving the design, reducing the material cost, labor content, and assisting in new product development.
Coordinate with cross function teams in implementing new designs and improvements.
Work with suppliers to improve quality and resolve product issues. Provide direct technical support to the production team as required to meet the goals.
Drive continuous improvement projects related to improving quality, reliability, and cost of products.
Performs the design, testing, operation and/or evaluation of mechanical and electro-mechanical devices or systems.
Conducts engineering studies through data acquisition and analyzes results.
