Job Description Summary

We have a new role for a Mechanical Engineer with a strong interest in medical devices for the RF Coils Team in Aurora, home of the design and manufacture of the AIRCoils (https://www.gehealthcare.com/products/magnetic-resonance-imaging/air-technology-coils). This role will provide support to delivering mechanical solutions to our MR products and interact with cross-functional teams to make the world best MRI Coils.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Leading design visualization efforts with 3D CAD models and essential component and assembly details to explore multiple design options.

  • Developing innovative designs to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability.

  • Develop design evolution across multi-generation product releases

  • Leveraging technical depth to work on business initiatives aimed at innovation and quality excellence

  • Leading the subsystems technical teams through the entire design cycle including requirements generation, design and implementation, verification & validation as the key technical mentor.

Required Qualifications

  • For roles in USA - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience

  • Familiarity with mechanical deraign software like Creo, Soldiworks or Ansys.

Desired Characteristics

  • Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or Bio-Medical Engineering.

  • Knowledge of Medical Imaging, Medical Device industry, Imaging or MRI Coils.

  • Demonstrated expertise in specified area of interest with the ability to develop engineering specifications for major sub-systems/sub-assemblies, written reports on technologies, and other product design recommendations

  • Demonstrated experience on global product releases throughout the entire new product development cycle

  • In-depth working knowledge of patient/customer product-related clinical applications scientific/engineering methods/theory with an affinity for technology and clinical solutions

  • Experience with Creo , Solidworks and Ansys design software.
