Summary: FlowBelow is seeking a mechanical engineer with interest in designing mechanical components for the commercial vehicle industry. Candidates must be willing to relocate to
Austin, TX.Responsibilities:

  • Design structural systems for mounting aerodynamic components to truck and trailer chassis
  • Verify durability of all aerodynamic parts and supports
  • Conduct DFMEA on new products
  • Optimize components for manufacturability
  • Ensure all products meet industry and customer standards
  • Quickly design custom parts to adapt existing product to unusual equipment
  • Occasional travel to and interface with customers to determine requirements
  • Occasional travel to test sites

Requirements

  • Knowledge of metal fabrication processes (stamping, welding and coating systems)
  • Knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes (injection molding, thermoforming, extrusion)
  • 3D CAD skills (prefer Solidworks)
  • Experience with GD&T

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or higher in mechanical, aerospace or automotive engineering

Job Description This position is for a lead mechanical design engineer focusing on design, and development of server solutions. Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions * Development of system concepts, conducting design previews, performing system acceptance, and resolving design and implementation issues. * Work effectively in a multi-function engineering development team and engage customers and suppliers directly to discuss and interpret mechanical solution requirements. * Drive balance between cost, performance, quality, and schedule and drive international and domestic engineering teams. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Individual should possess component through rack level understanding of mechanical engineering and related system design elements. * Individual should possess strong ability to understand competing relationship between thermal, mechanical, electrical, and power requirements. * Must have excellent working knowledge of mechanical engineering and design principles with specific expertise in the areas of design for large-scale production, sheet metal and injection molding, electrical interconnect systems, heat extraction and vibration control. Competencies * Experience with Creo, Pro-E, AutoCAD, FEA, and thermal analysis techniques for small to large electronics packaging systems (Flotherm and Ansys experience a plus). * Must have ability to work independently, regular reporting of progress and status. Education * BS in Mechanical Engineering Experience * 2-5 years of indiustry experience using Creo / Pro-E * 2-5 years of work experience in design and analysis of electronics packaging.
