Job Details:

Job Summary:
Performs complex mechanical engineering assignments following designated standards and procedures. Works closely with other engineering disciplines. Duties require application of engineering principles and techniques. This position typically works under general supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.


Essential Job Duties and

Responsibilities:
  • Conducts or participates in research, design, development and testing of mechanical hardware to include component modeling/analysis and tolerance analysis for designated products and/or customer applications.

  • Assesses the severity of problems, determines corrective action, resolves technical problems, performs fault isolation, and implements solutions.

  • Designs prototype systems.

  • Specifies materials, equipment and supplies.

  • Modifies existing engineering designs.

  • Conducts prototype construction and test. Logs, compiles and evaluates engineering data.

  • Writes manuals, procedures and reports.

  • Analyzes equipment to establish operating data.

  • Assists in preparing design specifications.

  • Assists in drawing and specification inputs.

  • Assists in the preparation of specifications and assessment of vendor products.

  • Applies and maintains quality standards.

  • Keeps abreast of improvements in mechanical engineering techniques.

  • CREO or Pro-E experience

Minimum Job Requirements:

Four-year college degree in mechanical engineering or science discipline plus a minimum of two years of experience or an applicable Master's degree. Desired experience in designing, developing and testing hardware. Effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to use typical office automation products such as work processing and spreadsheets. Mental ability to perform analytical work. Ability to prioritize work, complete multiple tasks and work under deadlines. Good interpersonal skills.

VIEW JOBS 11/13/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-11T00:00 -Lockheed Martin is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to join our Orlando, FL facility and be responsible for the mechanical design, engineering documentation, trade studies, and drawing release for a selected program. =Selected candidate will perform conceptual, detail structural design, and producibility studies * Leading the team through a delta PDR and CDR, hardware fabrication, integration, and test phases. * Experience on tactical missile design and configuration, ability to perform trade studies and interface with major suppliers on complex mechanical assemblies. * They will work closely with Mechanical Engineering to support all program objectives. * Travel may be required on an as needed basis. Relocation: * Relocation assistance is possible for this exciting position. The Locale: * Orlando is a city in the Central Florida area. This region is a great place to live and to raise a family. Central Florida offers lots of attractive residential housing options. * The Greater Orlando metropolitan area is the sixth largest metro area in the southeastern United States. The climate here is warm and sunny all year long for the most part. * Orlando is home to the University of Central Florida (UCF), Walt Disney World, and SeaWorld. Where can you get to from Orlando? * Orlando is about an hour's drive from Cocoa Beach and the 'space coast' to include NASA and the Kennedy Space Center. * Tampa is about 1 and ¼ hours from Orlando. * West Palm Beach is about 2.5 hours to the south and Jacksonville is about 2 hours to the northeast. * Atlanta, GA is 6 hours to the northwest.
