Computer Task Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work a 1 year assignment for our client in Eugene, OR.
The talented Mechanical Engineer will join a cross-functional engineering team designing instrumentation to aid in cutting-edge biological and medical research. You will work with team members and a variety of R&D staff for successful NPI projects with an emphasis on customer wants and needs. In addition, you will participate in brainstorming sessions, document processes, perform testing and sustaining engineering tasks.
Understand and apply technical knowledge, theory and best practice as related to machine design to assist with new product design and support sustaining engineering.
Assigned duties may include design and development of specific systems, modules, mechanisms or components to support assigned activities.
5 years' experience in machine or product design, or sustaining engineering.
BSME or BS Manufacturing Engineering
3D design software: Solidworks with PDM vault.
Experience with creating detailed part drawings and supporting engineering ECO process.
MS Office tools
Strong written, verbal communication and organizational skills.
Ability to interface with engineering and ops team to capture required changes and implement changes in documentation.
Operate hand and basic machine tools if needed.
Experience with BOM reading/building, manufacturing support, drawings per ASME Y14.5
Instrument or machine design experience.
Demonstrated ability for technical proficiency, problem solving skills, communication and task management.
Some combination of experience with mechanical components, fluid handling and optical components.
