Mechanical Engineer - Chemical Plant

In this position you will be responsible to maintain full compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management requirements for Mechanical Integrity processes at the facility. You will also create programs, author procedures, and conduct training to sustain the processes that meet or exceed compliance expectations and all regulatory requirements. You will maintain the equipment design records and preventive maintenance records for all assets in the facility. You will be the primary contact for internal and external compliance audits of the facility’s Mechanical Integrity program.

Other responsibilities will include using Recognized and Generally Acceptable Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP); overseeing the results of preventive maintenance inspections; signing off as the PSM equipment owner on inspection paperwork; making engineering recommendations to remedy equipment deficiencies; ensuring the accuracy and availability of all equipment documentation in the Maintenance Equipment Files; ensuring no delinquent PM inspections at any time; and managing all documentation concerning equipment status and PM extensions in the electronic equipment maintenance management system.

You will also have primary responsibility for the accuracy of the monthly PM inspection status report rests with the incumbent and will coordinates the PM schedule with Operations, Customer Service, and the Maintenance Department to meet Safety, Environmental, Productivity, Quality, and Cost objectives of the facility.

Requirements

* BS degree in Mechanical Engineering

* 5 + years of Mechanical Experience in the Chemical Plant industry (preferred)

* Proficient computer skills such as Microsoft Office tools, CHEMPAX (preferred, but not required)

* Ability to follow written and oral instructions

* Excellent problem solving, interpersonal skills and oral communication skills

* Ability to execute multiple projects with a high degree of efficiency and effectiveness.
