Cardinal Health Inventory Management Solutions (CIMS) is a rapidly growing platform that enables hospitals and medical device manufacturers to efficiently manage the inventory and usage of high value medical devices and implantables throughout the supply chain, all the way to the point of use. CIMS leverages advanced technologies such as RFID, NFC, and mobile, as well as a cloud-based advanced analytics platform.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design injection molded or sheet metal mechanical parts with consideration for customer needs, RFID performance, and manufacturability.

  • Review designs using Finite Element Analysis, 3D printing, prototyping, creating drawings/specs, integrating industrial design considerations, etc.

  • Create drawings following GD&T.

  • Update models and drawings using Solidworks.

  • Create new parts, assemblies, deviations, supplier change requests, and ECOs using Arena. Document sourcing, datasheets, specifications, change rationale, etc. for ECOs.

  • Create and update documentation to support assembly procedures and processes using good communication skills and documentation practices.

  • Design test methods for evaluating design changes. Complete testing personally or work with technician to complete test. Document test results and report out to team.

  • Work closely with contract manufacturer to evaluate potential design or assembly changes. Visit supplier as needed, 4-12 times per year.

  • Support positive improvements to quality system and other group processes.

  • Make recommendations for test equipment or software packages based upon group needs.

  • Adapt to project prioritization based on business and customer needs.

  • Monitor health of the installed base and investigate issues as required.

  • Skill Sets/Requirements:

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.

  • 5 Years' Experience Minimum in a Mechanical Eng, Design Environment.

  • Knowledge of Solidworks a must, Solidworks FEA module a positive.

  • Knowledge of Arena PLM, or equivalent.

  • Ability to grasp technology quickly.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects.

  • Enthusiastic, cooperative, positive, and inquisitive.

  • Must be able to work independently.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong communication, written skills required.

  • Detail-oriented, multi-tasker who can work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with common manufacturing methods, including sheetmetal, various molding techniques, and machining.

  • Familiarity with rapid Prototyping methods.

  • Familiarity with Linux a plus.

  • Familiarity with RFID a plus

  • Works on projects of moderate scope and complexity

VIEW JOBS 11/13/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-11T00:00 SUMMARY The Consulting Engineer is responsible for leveraging advanced engineering and tools knowledge in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to help our customers to solve complex engineering problems using ANSYS software products. This is a proactive engagement to help streamline our customers' design flow, improve product robustness and quality, as well as reduce their overall product cost by injecting simulation throughout the design process, thus enabling the customer to fully adopt simulation driven product development. This position will be located on-site at a customer's office location. The Consulting Engineer will provide guidance and mentoring to the customer's global engineering workforce to ensure their success in adopting ANSYS software tools. RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide mentoring and guidance to the CFD modeling and simulation community * Define and execute on a strategy that delivers value to the customer that can be seen by reducing product cost, improving quality, and reducing time to market by adopting simulation throughout the design process * Understand customers' business needs and expand the application of ANSYS tools to new areas through face-to-face interactions * Increase the productivity of engineers by providing process development support and creating and disseminating best practices * Facilitate engagement with the broader ANSYS technical organization for advanced support and execution of service projects * Facilitate engagement with ANSYS development organization by sharing customers' needs for feature enhancements and defect fixes * Help deploy ANSYS managed workflows (Custom GUIs, scripted I/O, etc.) * Work as an integral member of the Sales and ACE teams to increase adoption of ANSYS tools MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering or other technical discipline * Minimum of 5 years of experience in performing CFD and Thermal simulations * Demonstrated use of relevant ANSYS software or knowledge in other commercial CAE, CAD packages * Thorough understanding of CFD principles and techniques, with a specialty in one or more of the following application areas: * Modeling complex fluids * Multiphase simulations * Heat transfer simulations * Demonstrated skills in writing and presenting in fluent English PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * MS or PhD degree preferred * Experience with ANSYS Fluent preferred * Experience with creating User Defined Functions (UDF) within Fluent framework is a plus * Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) and optimization techniques a definite plus * Experience in scripting languages such as python is a plus * Experience in the use of CAD software a plus * Must have customer service aptitude and maintain customer focus * Ability to travel up to 10% CULTURE AND VALUES Culture and values are incredibly important to ANSYS.
