To develop, direct and coordinate major projects for Bemis North America that involve both mechanical and electrical engineering components. Projects assigned to this position are of considerable variety and complexity and accomplished with minimal guidance from engineering management.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities. This includes ensuring all project work is completed in accordance with safety policies.
Determines customer's needs by identifying problems and safety concerns. Develop and evaluate solutions thereby defining project scope.
Establishes Project Team, facilitates and documents Project team meetings.
Provides the purchasing services for project materials required. This includes reviewing potential vendors, contacts with vendors, coordinating with the Purchasing Department, issuing purchase orders, some price negotiation, and expediting delivery.
Manages project costs, project scheduling and supplying pertinent communication for multiple highly complex and wide-ranging engineering projects, which may vary in terms of scope and responsibilities.
Completes Project Closeout and Post mortem Analysis for appropriate projects.
Assists, as necessary, in the interview process of candidates for filling openings within the department.
Identifies potential areas of improvement for department and develops proposals for action plans.
Provides project management training and support to develop skills of less-experienced members of the Engineering department.
As senior member of department, offers experience and expertise to the engineering personnel, acting as consultant to assist in solving problems.
Actively participates on WCOM team and leads teams as requested.

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU
A bachelor degree in engineering - BSME preferred.
5 - 7+ years of experience with Bemis or similar flexible packaging engineering projects
Trade journals, technical and management seminars.
