Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Orlando, FL location. This role is responsible for all aspects of mechanical engineering projects, including system design, structural calculations, load calculations, and material stress design. You will also be responsible for system installation, check-out support, and start-up assistance. Your role will require you to act as a technical lead on projects and guide lower-level engineers, technicians, and contractors. Additionally, you will also act as Project Manager on smaller projects ranging from $50k to $250k. This involves developing and executing implementation plans for the project, assigning work to meet overall project deadlines, ensuring project team members understand their responsibilities, developing schedules for internal and customer requirements, evaluating project progress, and managing all purchasing and subcontractor requirements.
Hard Skills
Understanding of mechanical systems, components, stress analysis, acceleration forces
Knowledge of analyzing system design for Hazard analysis development and mitigation
Ability to design and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic control systems
Ability to perform system analysis/calculations including: Stress, fatigue, reliability, life expectancy, tolerance studies
3D CAD (AutoCAD and SolidWorks)
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Soft Skills
Effective oral and written communications
Ability to work in a multi-disciplined environment
Ability to interface with engineers, designers, and drafters
Organizational skills
Ability to lead projects and guide lower-level engineers, technicians, and contractors

This is a permanent position.
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Orlando, Florida.
Work Environment
You will be part of a small local team of five in our theme park division, based in the Windemere office. However, most of your work will be conducted on site. Team is laid back and operates with a high level of independence. While your work will primarily be based in Orlando, you may be required to travel up to 35% of the time.
