What You Will Do:

RTX is seeking an established Mechanical Engineer to fill an On-Site position in our Dallas, TX location. This position resides in RI&S Engineering within the Hardware Engineering Center (HWEC) supporting the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems (ISRS) Mission Area. We are looking for self-starting candidates to perform mechanical design and documentation of electro-mechanical assemblies, coordinate with and visit suppliers throughout the US, and support our manufacturing facility in Forest, MS.

The candidate is expected to follow established procedures and instructions while working closely with program and functional leadership to ensure the overall design goals are met. The candidate is expected to have worked with PTC Creo Parametric CAD software or other CAD tools.

The candidate is also expected to have a working knowledge of GD&T principles and their application for design documentation and fabrication. The candidate will work within a multi-disciplined team of engineers with the responsibility for housing design, equipment packaging, liquid cooling systems, and interconnect layouts. The candidate will also create electrical schematics and facilitate ECAD/MCAD coordination for Circuit Card layout and design.

The candidate will work under a Lead Engineer, while exercising latitude in presenting the technical solutions for various assignments. The position will require frequent interaction with the IPTL, PM, Supply Chain, and external personnel. Company travel up to 35% will be expected.

Qualifications You Must Have:

B.S. Degree in Engineering or a related discipline AND 2 years of engineering experience to include:

Experience with PTC CREO Parametric or other CAD design tools

As a Defense Contractor, there are specific programs requiring a certain level of Security Clearance and Special access for assigned staff. The selected candidate will be required to secure these accesses. Not being able to secure the Interim Secret Security Clearance needed for this position may result in an offer of employment being rescinded.

U.S. citizenship is required. This position will require a Secret clearance within 1 year of start date.

This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate Government Agency for non-U.S. persons.

Qualifications We Prefer:

Knowledge and understanding of materials or fabrication methods

Fundamental knowledge and understanding of statistical concepts and how to apply them to development and production processes.

Knowledge and understanding of engineering and scientific methods and tools to characterize behavior of products and processes (laboratory experience preferred).

Knowledge of mechanical fabrication and assembly drawings.

Production support including the use of basic measurement tools.

Ability to draft communications, create and deliver presentations.

Able to work independently and as a team member.

Experience in the support of design and integration of mechanical products and assemblies (internship(s) preferred).

Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Knowledge of Mechanical CAD design and electronic design.

Ability to travel between North-Texas sites, Forest, MS, and supplier visits.

Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work in a multi-disciplined integrated product team.

Required Education:

2 years professional experience in a mechanical or related field.

College level degree from an ABET accredited university with a major in Mechanical Engineering or other related field

Experience with PTC CREO Parametric or other CAD design tools

Requires theoretical to advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through University Degree

combined with experience. Practical knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.

Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics(STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
