Quartzdyne has an immediate need for a Mechanical Engineer to work in New Product Development, Product Launch, Technical R&D, and Manufacturing Support. We are a small company, less than 100 employees, which therefore provides an opportunity for an engineer to be involved in all aspects of the design cycle. Mechanical Engineers at Quartzdyne play a key role in the scoping, designing, testing, and launch phases of product development. Our Mechanical Engineers are also a critical element in supporting production and problem solving in manufacturing. Perform activities as needed to support new product development, technical R&D, and manufacturing support
Play a key role in the scoping, designing, testing, and launch phases of product development.
May perform initial design, analysis, development, and testing of hybrid circuit packaging
Leverages customer input for custom designs of pressure transducers related specifically to the mechanical portion of the transducer
Works with vendors for successful manufacturing of all mechanical parts of hybrid circuits and transducers
Works with other engineers to conduct front end analysis and design of new products
Must be willing and eager to work directly with operations and production personnel to assist in building prototypes and fixtures
Comfortable in producing a mechanical drawing with appropriate dimensions and tolerances.
Ability to communicate to machine shops with self-generated CAD drawings. Understands GD&T, Y14.5 2009
Researches mechanical features that will improve product performance.
Must be comfortable using industry standard tools like Matlab, Mathcad, Solidworks, and FEA (and Excel) or other similar tools
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong skills using Microsoft Word and Excel required
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all stakeholders
Strong desire to learn and be a problem solver
Data acquisition skills a plus
Must be self-motivated and not afraid to approach people and ask questions and get help
Accepts critical feedback related to both design work and from a personal development point of view
Proficient in SolidWorks
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Normal working conditions absent extreme factors
Must be able to see well enough to read reports, send emails, etc.
Must be able to hear and speak well enough to communicate with customers and vendors
Must be able to lift up to 25lbs periodically
