We are seeking a Mechanical Drafter & Designer to join our Consumer Products Professional Business in Neenah, WI.
The Mechanical Drafter & Designer will add value by performing Computer Aided Design work to assist in the development of new or existing device and dispenser products. This position will require the ideal candidate to possess knowledge of mechanical drafting and design principles, practices, and procedures to assist the design and development of new or improved products. Under the direction of Engineers, you will design and commercialize new products using SolidWorks design software and SAP/Engineering Control Center PLM software. This candidate will be required to design and model plastic injection molded parts, along with parts from various other manufacturing practices.
A Day in The Life Typically Includes:
Working within a development team, attending project meetings where you will propose new design features or review existing features and functions
Performing drawing checking, tolerance analysis, model analysis, parametric link control and compilation of drawings where parametric link integrity and revision control is maintained
Reviewing drawings for accuracy, material selection and finishes, proper Design for Manufacturability and Design for Assembly techniques
Supporting additional duties of Product Development R&D which may be assigned as resource needs require, such as 3D printing and prototype testing.
Being self-motivated and maintaining a positive attitude and possess effective communication skills & techniques
Possessing an entrepreneurial attitude, the desire to challenge status quo, and possess the initiative to be a self-starter
Offering and receiving constructive feedback and coaching
What You Will Need:
Associates or Technical degree or higher in Design or Drafting
3D CAD Software design experience
What Will Put You Ahead?
SolidWorks Administrative tasks to include maintaining templates and software updates
Knowledge of plastic part design and plastic molding
Experience advancing designs and projects
Experience leveraging the voice of the customer to drive design requirements
SAP/Engineering Control Center PLM system knowledge and experience
SAP or PDM/PLM system knowledge
