Mechanical Designer - Remote - 1012

Mechanical DesignerThe Mechanical Designer will contribute engineering design efforts to expand and support HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Process, and Utility Engineering efforts.  This individual will execute drafting and design duties as needed to ensure a quality design and product is always produced.Successful candidates must be registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) or EIT (Engineer in Training) with additional credentials encouraged and desired. This is a full time REMOTE salaried position open to US Citizens and Permanent ResidentsMinimum Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years’ mechanical drafting and design experience at an MEP Engineering or A-E Firm
• Associates degree in Drafting and Design or ME degree
• Operational experience in REVIT REQUIRED
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

• • • Expertise in fire protection, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing and mechanical utility systems
    • Capability of interpreting information set forth in a Basis of Design, field surveys and code research
    • Proficiency with mechanical concepts including Psychometrics, Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow both compressible and incompressible
    • Proficiency in using design tools such as the Psychrometric Chart, Ductulator, and Pipe Flow
    • Proficiency with design drawing software including Revit and AutoCAD
    • Ability to use computer software including Trane Trace, eQuest, and Microsoft Office
    • Experience developing and implementing design criteria and system designs from concept through detailed design and construction
    • Ability to implement criteria for distribution systems, research applicable codes, and investigate system routing options and equipment room layouts
    • Ability to perform system calculations as well as size and select system components
    • Ability to review shop drawing submittals, and travel to job sites when needed to perform field verification
    • Ability to work well in a team environment and as an individual. Communicates well with individuals in the organization

  • Uses excellent writing skills to author and edit basis of design (BOD) narratives, design criteria documents and specifications, engineering reports, RFI responses, and other information as needed
  • Reads relevant project correspondence and maintains project design files
