JOB DESCRIPTION:

Benchmark Automation is searching for a Mechanical Drafter to join their Engineering team. Under general direction, the Mechanical Drafter develops and prepares mechanical drawings for product machinery where broad use of independent judgement and highly technical skills are required. This position reports to the Mechanical Engineering Supervisor.

  • Responsible for mechanical engineering drawing details. Basic design of machined and fabricated parts (including manufacturing methods) which includes shafts, bearings & housings, valves, drive components, mounting plates & precision spacers, structural frame weldments, sheet metal bins, channels, covers, ducts etc. Prepares proper bills of material based on design and orders necessary control unit(s) for production.

  • Analyze and prioritize projects based on the scope of established internal operations schedule.

  • Interfaces with the Manufacturing to insure machinery designs are properly fabricated, parts machined, and assembled which may include revising of mechanical design specifications/drawings. Prepare and direct reports to other departments to address and resolve inquiries and problems.

  • Act as a technical resource for customers to address and resolve inquiries and problems.

  • Travels to customer plants for machine installation, commissioning, and field service.

  • Provide training to technicians to educate them on equipment so they can perform customer service work.

  • Work with assembly and engineering to improve product designs and production techniques.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2-year degree in mechanical/technical field or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical drafting, packaging experience preferred

  • Design knowledge of machined and fabricated parts e.g. shafts, bearings & housings, drive components, mounting plates, precision spacers, structural frame weldments, sheet metal bins, channels, covers, ducts, etc.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills which includes presentation skills

  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Office- Word/Excel, AutoCAD, Auto Desk, Inventor)

  • Good interpersonal skills to successfully work with both internal and external customers

  • Ability to successfully handle a multi-tasked role

  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently

  • Ability to work well in a team environment

  • Able to travel up to 50% of the time and work overtime as required.

JOB DESCRIPTION Zalkin Americas is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to obtain customer specifications and design the mechanical components of machinery. This position reports to the Operation Manager. Responsibilities will include: * Working closely with the Sales Department and having direct customer contact. * Application of machinery principles and materials, manufacturing methods and processes to insure designs are functional, practical, economical and satisfy customer operating requirements. * Design of machined and fabricated parts (including manufacturing methods) including shafts, bearings & housings, drive components, mounting plates & precision spacers, structural frame weldments, sheet metal bins, channels, covers, ducts etc. * Preparing proper bills of material based on design and ordering necessary control unit(s) for production. * Analyzing and prioritizing projects based on the scope of established customer delivery dates. * Interfacing with Manufacturing to insure machinery designs are properly fabricated, parts machined, and assembled which may include revising of mechanical design specifications/drawings. * Partnering with Production to conduct machinery mechanical testing and other departments to coordinate work/projects ensuring customer on-time delivery. * Preparing and directing reports to other departments to address and resolve inquiries and problems. * Acting as a technical resource for customers and Service Technicians, especially, during machine installation and start-up in customer plant(s). JOB REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor of Science degree in engineering (mechanical preferred). Preferred – an engineering license (P.E). * 5+ years' experience in design/application engineering. * Design knowledge of machined and fabricated parts e.g. shafts, bearings & housings, drive components, mounting plates, precision spacers, structural frame weldments, sheet metal bins, channels, covers, ducts, etc., and Pro-Engineering & AutoCAD. * Packaging experience preferred. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills which includes presentation skills. * Good computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word/Excel, AutoCAD, Pro – Engineer. * Good interpersonal skills and ability to successfully handle a multi-faceted role. * Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently. * Ability to work well in a team environment. * Able to travel up to 10% of the time.
