Kavaliro is seeking a Mechanical Designer who will be working under the direction of engineering management to design and detail mechanical components and systems. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality, integrity, and functionality of designs from the initial concept through manufacturing, assembly, testing, and installation.

Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with engineers, drafters, manufacturing, production, and purchasing teams to complete design projects within deadlines and budget. Provide design and manufacturing support.

Ensure mechanical systems, sub-assemblies, and components comply with specifications and are properly documented. Create layouts and detailed mechanical designs. Recommend appropriate materials and components for designs based on experience and catalog references.

Study and apply industry standards to ensure designs meet safety regulations. Actively participate in design reviews, working with engineering, manufacturing, and production teams, as well as end-users, to verify designs meet all requirements. Maintain project folders and regularly report status updates to managers and engineers.

Use configuration management to keep technical information organized and up to date. Plan, conduct, and document experiments to validate design performance. Safely handle government-furnished equipment and materials.

Be available for a standard work schedule, including overtime if necessary. Perform additional tasks as assigned. Qualifications and Skills:

Strong understanding of 3D mechanical CAD, including detail drawings and large assembly management. Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present engineering concepts to both management and technical teams. In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices.

Capable of making independent decisions on engineering issues, using logic and reasoning to evaluate solutions and approaches. Able to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of sheet metal and machined part fabrication practices and documentation standards.

Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to contribute to cross-functional teams. Proficient in identifying complex problems, developing options, and implementing solutions. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize projects effectively.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, SolidWorks Simulation, and EPDM configuration management. Experience with Faro Arm 3D Scanner and Geomagic Design X software is preferred. Experience with 3D printing, additive manufacturing, and rapid prototyping is preferred.

Ability to obtain security clearance if required by the contract. Education and Experience: Associate's degree in a related field, a certification from a technical institute, or equivalent.
