The Opportunity | Mechanical Designer

  • Prepare manufacturing drawings in conjunction with a Project Engineer, Application Engineer or Design Coordinator.

  • Produce General Arrangement Drawings for use with factory orders in Creo (Pro Engineer) and/or AutoCad.

  • Assist in the archiving and distribution of completed manufacturing drawings.

  • Assist manufacturing personnel in the selection of correct drawings.

  • Work with Project Engineer to develop design improvements.

  • Create parts (3-D model), assemblies (3-D model), and engineering drawings in Creo (Pro Engineer) and/or AutoCad.

Your Expertise

  • Associate's Degree in Mechanical Design or Drafting required.

  • Formal training or certification in the use of Creo.

  • Training in other 3D CAD Software packages may be acceptable.

  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of CREO or other 3D CAD Experience required.

  • Computer aided design software training is required (Creo and AutoCAD).

  • Familiarity with GD&T per ASME Y14.5.

  • Strong computer skills required using Microsoft Word and Excel, Infor LN or other ERP System.

  • Computer literacy and aptitude to keep up understanding of growing Windows system complexities.

  • Use of product life cycle management (PLM) and business system (Infor LN) software.

  • Ability to set priorities, work independently, and bring issues to resolution.

  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

VIEW JOBS 2/14/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-14T00:00 The Opportunity | Assembly Manager The Assembly Manager oversees the entire manufacturing process and ensures the assembly or production process adheres to policies and procedures. His/her job is to handle the cost efficiency, quality and safety throughout the manufacturing process. The Assembly Manager also works with other personnel to find cost effective and quality materials used in the process, constantly looking for ways to cut costs and streamline processes. Your Challenge * Manages and coordinates manufacturing activities so that approved products are manufactured on schedule within quality and cost objectives. * Develops and recommends company manufacturing policy, establishes manufacturing operating policy and directs and supervises the application of such policies to the manufacturing operations. * Supervises installation and maintenance of all processing equipment used in manufacturing. Coordinates the planning and execution of manufacturing schedules based on sales requirements and plant capacity. * Manage preparation of cost control reports, cost estimates and manpower and facilities requirement forecasts. Controls cost of production, warehousing, receiving and shipping of raw materials through appropriate subordinates. * Establishes and maintains inventory controls and levels to conform to budgets and forecasts. * Ensures adherence to all company policies and procedures. * Supervises Associates in a manner that fosters a safe work environment and self-directed team approach. * Provides continuous communication to Plant management on production, facility and Associate accomplishments and/or concerns. * Identifies, arranges and/or provides training to ensure a safe, efficient, quality work environment with focus on continuous improvement through Lean manufacturing principles. * Facilitates communication, coordination and conflict resolution within and among work groups. * Provides leadership to Associates in all areas including: hiring, performance management, coaching, counseling and corrective actions. * Assists in the analysis of production and related processes and makes recommendations on improvements and organization of process improvement activity through the application of Six-Sigma & Lean Manufacturing methodologies. * Promotes an atmosphere of diversity, open communication and trust, affording opportunities for training and growth. * Remains flexible to the needs of the business and performs other functions as required. Your Expertise * Bachelor's degree in technical or business related field required * 7+ years of experience in manufacturing high mix/low mechanical volume industry preferred. * Demonstrated knowledge in Continuous Improvement practices, certifications a plus * Strong understanding of manufacturing of mechanical components and assemblies and daily production planning * Proven leadership skills in a fast paced environment * Basic Project Management skills * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Ability to work flexible hours and shifts * Strong analytical skills * Strong use and application of ERP/MRP systems * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Lotus Notes) * Strong interpersonal skills; Ability to work with cross functional areas * Physical Requirements: * Lifting, pushing, pulling 50lbs. * Standing * Sitting This position may require exposure to information that is subject to US export control regulations, i.e. the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
