We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer based in our Hingham, MA location.

Position Overview

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our dynamic engineering team, contributing to the development of automatic transfer switches. Leveraging your technical expertise and creativity, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing mechanical components to meet project specifications and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Apply CAD to develop detailed drawings for enclosures and copper bussing pe UL 1008 code.

  • Build and maintain BOM's using our product configurators (COMPAS) & ERP (SAP)

  • Research internal libraries to help support upgrades to legacy equipment.

  • Support the operations & field service team with engineering-related questions.

  • Read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams to develop mechanical solutions.

  • Maintain meticulous records of designs, BOMS, & procedures.

  • Keep up to date with the latest technologies and methodologies in mechanical engineering and manufacturing to bring innovative solutions to the team.

You'll win us over by having the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering or experience in a similar trade

  • Experience with CAD software required: AutoCAD, Creo, Inventor

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to interpret physical drawings and system schematic one-line diagrams.

  • Interpersonal skills that allow for goal accomplishment when working with different business teams are required to be successful in this role.

  • Proven organizational skills, including attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Lean manufacturing experience

  • Experience working with a fabrication shop.

  • Knowledge of UL codes and National Electric Code

  • The pay range for this position is $72k-$90K. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
