Job Description

Actalent is currently hiring Mechanical Drafters & Designers in the Kansas City area. Proficiency in AutoCAD is required along with 3D modeling experience, preferably using Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks. Candidates should have an education/certification in design or related field, not an engineering degree. • Prepares complete and accurate product/part drawings from sketches, customer specifications, or notes.

• Check dimensions of parts, document materials to be used, verify form, fit and function of assembly parts.

• Must be capable of reading and understanding custom requirements and apply applicable details.

• Develop a working knowledge of manufacturing processes, machines and various building materials

Hard Skills

• Autodesk Inventor software is ideal

• Create detailed structural assemblies and complete drawing packages

• Developing Bill of Materials (BOM)

Soft Skills

• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering groups, customers, and outside vendors/suppliers

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

• Experience working in a manufacturing/production setting is ideal
