Job Description:

Sikorsky WPB Airframe Design Organization seeks individual in the design of aircraft primary and secondary structure, utilizing metallic and composite materials. Applicant will be required to work in both Flight Test and Production environments and will need to have the flexibility to transition back and forth as required. Candidate will be expected to work closely with other disciplines in a team setting in order to meet flight schedules and build milestones.

This position is for a first shift, individual contributor. However, candidate should expect to work an occasional flex work schedule or overtime to support activity that carries over to the weekend.

Candidate will work in a team environment. Individual should be adept in Microsoft programs, and should possess excellent communication and presentation skills. Knowledge of CAD, specifically CATIA V5 a plus.

Applicant to have a minimum of a BS degree in mechanical, structural, or aeronautics. Travel to be less than 10%.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline.

Are you looking to join such a team? The Flight Test Systems Design group is seeking an entry level mechanical/airframe design engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for integration of instrumentation components on prototype and developmental aircraft with a focus on establishing structural configurations that meet customer requirements for performance, weight, producibility and cost. The successful candidate will work closely with a variety of engineering disciplines in a cooperative product development team environment as well as outside suppliers. The selected candidate will be responsible for creating concept, preliminary, and detailed design packages that will be used to initiate fabrication/procurement requirements. Basic Qualifications: Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline. This individual must be able to work closely with a variety of engineering disciplines in a cooperative Product Development Team environment as well as outside suppliers. Desired Skills: Experience in coordinating requirements and interfaces, developing layouts, and interpreting and applying geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T), stack-up, and gap analysis.
