Position:

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer with experience specializing in computing systems mechanical design. Your expertise will help us bring cutting-edge technologies, architectures, and high-performance computing systems to market.

Key Responsibilities:

Designs, analyzes, develops, modifies, and evaluates materials, mechanical systems, equipment, and packaging. Conducts feasibility, design margin and validation analysis and empirical testing on new and modified designs. Leads and/or assists in architecture development and assessment. Evaluates reliability of materials, properties, designs, and techniques used in production. May direct support personnel and/or partner organizations in the preparation of detailed design, design testing, prototype fabrication, and production tooling.

As a vital member of our team, you will:

  • Design integration of workstation electronics including CPU motherboard, storage, GPUs, adapter cards, power supplies, and other components.

  • Create innovative, cost-effective ways of electronics packaging by designing sheet metal, die-cast and injection molded plastic parts and assemblies.

  • Work closely with electrical engineers to collaborate on the mechanical layout of circuit cards.

  • Interface with other engineering disciplines such as thermal engineering, power engineering, electromagnetic compatibility engineering, interconnect engineering, safety, human factors, and others to optimize product design.

  • Utilize robust design techniques to ensure the product meets rigorous shock and vibration requirements.

  • Work with the product development team to deliver designs that meet worldwide compliance and regulations.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering.

  • Minimum of 4 years in a related discipline, with a strong emphasis on computing systems design (server, workstation, client computing).

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in using ProEngineer or other 3D CAD software for mechanical design.

  • Creative thinking. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply them effectively.

  • Skillful in conveying design proposals and negotiating options effectively.

  • Experience designing sheet metal and plastic parts (and associated production tooling and processes).

  • Ability to build effective working relationships with cross-functional stakeholders and development partners.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both English and the local language.

  • Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at all management levels.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $79,150.00 -- $114,750.00 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
