Purpose / General Description:

This position has been created to support the BEA Research and Development group in the areas of design, drafting, testing and more. Additional responsibilities will include supporting the production engineering and cross functional teams on a daily basis. A positive attitude and approachability are a must.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support the Research and Development Team in projects from release through launch as needed, providing engineering support in an organized and on-time fashion. Maintain detailed record of the project work.
• Assist Principle Mechanical Engineer on projects as needed.
• Maintain position as a Point of Contact for R&D mechanical design support, layouts, assemblies, etc.
• Assist with testing activities, prototype builds, test setups and teardowns, etc
• Work to ensure the accuracy, integrity and control of design releases (models, drawings, specifications, BOM, etc.) within the engineering framework
• Support cross functional activities by ensuring drawing accuracy, helping train people, solving problems (Production "Stop and Fix") and implement improvements.
• Learn and apply safety compliance concepts when designing (UL, IBC, etc)
• Support sales and marketing activities by responding to customer requests, helping train people and ensuring all technical information is accurate and up-to-date.

Minimum Requirements:

• Associate's degree/certificate in mechanical technology or related study
• Autocad Inventor experience. FEA understanding and experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in an engineering design and development discipline
• Demonstrated ability to think in terms of "systems" and work creatively to improve them
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team and actively contribute to the success of the team
• Good communication, organization and project documentation skills
