As an Electromechanical Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining electromechanical systems and components in extremely harsh conditions. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create innovative solutions that meet project objectives and industry standards. We are looking for a passionate Electro-Mechanical Engineer to support the design, initial installation, fabrication, manufacturing, testing, and troubleshooting of enclosures and supporting equipment (i.e. brackets, cables, etc).

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • System Design and Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external design personnel to conceptualize, design, and develop electromechanical systems, products, and components for mass production. Conduct feasibility studies, research, and prototyping to validate design concepts. Ensure designs comply with ATEX, IECEx, NRTL certifications and ISO/IEC 80079-34 and ISO 9001 standards. Prepare and communicate specifications for purchase of materials and equipment/tooling when necessary.

  • Testing and Validation: Develop test plans and procedures to validate the performance, reliability, and safety of electromechanical systems. Analyze test data and make necessary design modifications to meet specifications.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Create detailed technical documentation, including engineering drawings, schematics, and reports. Maintain accurate records of design changes and project progress.

  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure that electromechanical systems comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements. Implement quality control processes and perform regular inspections.

  • Manufacturing: Direct and coordinate manufacturing support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with the specifications and requirements. Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing specifications. Lead and assist in investigating equipment and tooling issues to identify root cause and develop corrective actions. Oversee test fixture design and development as needed.

  • Product Installation: Support customer and field support with installation documentation and support. Design, develop and source material to ensure products can be installed quickly to meet customer requirements on various asset types. Maintain installation documentation and materials in the PLM system.

  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Identify and resolve electromechanical system issues through troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques. Develop preventive maintenance plans to ensure long-term reliability. Manage and oversee PLM software to ensure accurate bill of material, sourcing and compliance of materials.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and software engineers, to achieve project goals. Communicate project status, challenges, and solutions effectively to team members and stakeholders.

  • Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in electromechanical engineering and related technologies. Participate in training and professional development opportunities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or higher in electromechanical, mechanical or a related field

  • Proven experience in electromechanical system design and development with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States

  • Perform engineering calculations, analysis as required (statics, dynamics, fluids, FEA, etc)

  • Experience with tool design, enclosure design and harsh environment certifications

  • Proficiency with Solidworks 3D CAD design and simulation software

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control systems and mechanical principles

  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations in North America, UK and EU (e.g. ISO, UL, REACH, ROHS, etc.)

  • Extensive experience with PLM software (Experience with ARENA is a plus)

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to adapt to new technologies and methodologies as needed.

  • Familiarity or experience fielding ATEX and/or IECEx certified devices is a plus

  • Experience in oil and gas, automotive, aerospace, military, rail is a plus

  • Travel required to customer, testing and manufacturing facilities

  • Spanish language a plus
