We have a company in North Kingstown looking for an experienced mechanical assembler. If you have experience building/working on different ma

Responsibilities:

Read blue prints and assemble/disassemble/fix different types of heavy industrial machinery.

Working hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Skills:

Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products

Utilize hand held tools such as a hand held screw and drill gun etc

Maintain inventory of product in work stations

Perform quality work checks to insure the product meets quality standards

Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified

Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes

Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures

Maintain a clean and safe work area

5 Years experience working in mechanical assembly with manufacturing machines.

We currently have a position available for a New Product Development Engineer. Reporting to the Senior New Business Development Manager, this position is responsible for initiating and leading new product development projects in Toray's Lumirror Division. The successful candidate will have a broad knowledge of technical studies related to polymers, materials, chemistry and engineering equivalent to a Bachelor's degree. An understanding of multi-layer film design, applications, and limitations is highly desirable. Essential duties require broad conceptual judgment, initiative, and ability to deal with complex factors and ideas not easily evaluated, and to make decisions based on conclusions for which there is little precedent. Applicant must be detail oriented and have the ability to prioritize tasks with limited supervision. Essential Duties: * Lead technical projects related to the new development of plastic films for a specific market or customer. * Responsible for new product development from the research stage through the developmental stage and into scale up to commercial activity. * Source new and unique raw materials and adhere to Toray's safety and environmental policies for new materials. * Organize and conduct pilot line trials onsite and offsite. * Organize and conduct production line trials in conjunction with other Engineers. * Work with and report to the Marketing Group as required. * Perform all other duties assigned Skills & Qualifications Required: * 2 or more years in an R&D or process engineering function preferred. * Hands-on process manufacturing experience in converting processes, lamination, extrusion coating or metallization of plastic films is desirable. * Working knowledge of computer applications such as MS Office, SAP, and manufacturing process control software * Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills. Education & Experience: * Minimum of BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, Materials, Polymers or other related Engineering disciplines * 2+ years' experience in dealing with materials, polymers, plastics, manufacturing processes.
