Mechanic / Technician

Position Summary: The Mechanic/Technician will safely and effectively complete remanufacturing of drivetrain and/or hydraulic components serving the off-highway vehicle industry. This includes all steps from unit disassembly through bench testing of a completed component assembly.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Disassemble units using TransAxle written standard work and diagnoses the

problem timely and efficiently.

• Clean, prepare and accurately determine salvageable parts for reuse using

TransAxle standards.

• Accurately write up parts needed in overhaul and submit to shop manager or

branch manager in a timely manner.

• Assemble and perform proper bench test in accordance with TransAxle

standards.

• Properly use and maintain all shop equipment including, but not limited to,

parts washer, hydraulic press, air tools, gas and electric welders, riveting machine,

bench and hand grinders.

• Accurately check assembly tolerance and end play specifications using the proper tools and gauges.

• Checks products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolves any identified problems and alerts team lead.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Skills Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Strong mechanical aptitude, work ethic and a desire to succeed.

• Hands on mechanical experience with heavy duty vehicle transmissions, differential steering gear.

• Ability to be a self-starter that operates effectively and professionally under pressure.

• Dependable, punctual and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Demonstrate good team work attitude.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, verbal and written.

• Ability to read and understand manufacturers' tolerances and schematics.

• Detail-oriented.

• Works well as a productive member of a team.

• Ability to properly maintain and perform basic repairs on tools and equipment.

• Basic ability in mathematics, reading, or writing.
