S&ME is looking for a motivated and passionate Mechanic to join our Field Exploration team in Charlotte, North Carolina. Join us at S&ME!

This position will require traveling throughout our footprint.

As a Mechanic, you will perform preventative maintenance, and routine and complex repairs on our fleet of medium-duty support trucks (F250 and F350's) and Heavy-duty Hall trucks, geotechnical drill rigs, and other associated equipment.

Your Day-to-Day:

• Maintaining the shop, assisting with designing and developing equipment and tools, and occasionally welding drill rigs and equipment.

• Working on electrical systems specific to geotechnical drill rigs and repairing hydraulic components such as hoses, pumps, and cylinders.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines.

This position requires a proactive individual with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in maintaining and repairing heavy equipment.

What You Bring:

• A high school diploma or GED

• Vocational training in mechanics, a plus

• 4 years of experience as a mechanic for gasoline and diesel engines

• An auto/diesel mechanic certificate

• Good problem-solving skills

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment such as:

• Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions

• Walking over rough and uneven terrain

• Standing up to 8 hours a day, up to 12 hours on occasion

• Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs

• Traveling out-of-town (typically overnight) for assignments as necessary

• Working outside of normal business hours when necessary
