SUMMARY: The Mechanic repairs and maintains production machinery and mechanical equipment such as; coating lines, print lines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, skid tumbler, band saw, ovens, incinerators, and all ancillary equipment. Commitment to and support of the Company Core Values are key to success in this position.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* Be knowledgeable on all equipment in the Litho department to be able to set up, adjust, repair, and maintain the equipment within a proficient time frame * Be knowledgeable and proficient in adjustment, repair and use of all line support equipment; such as Strappers, stretch wrapper, conveyors, band saw and welding equipment * Recommend any necessary repairs or improvements to equipment to the supervisor or manager * Work with other Litho mechanics/electricians on major breakdowns and overhaul work * Maintain all standard maintenance procedures with qualified log * Keep a quantitive supply of parts available for most eventualities * Follow company personnel and product safety requirements including standards such as those fromSQF and internal GMP's * Follow proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with State and Federal laws * Other duties as assignedSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Must be available for overtime as required by managementEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: One-year certificate from a college or technical school; or minimum twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and write in English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees in the organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must have completed journeyman training requirement as required by the Company or similar training elsewhere. Must be certified in CPR; basic first aid and fully trained in Lockout and Tagout requirements.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
