SUMMARY

This position requires employees to be skilled, trained and capable of maintaining the mechanical condition of vehicles through diagnosis, minor and major repairs and preventative maintenance inspections through utilizing established Crestwood fleet maintenance procedures as directed by management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with all mechanics providing assistance as directed.

  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections without supervision.

  • Perform simple mechanical repairs as directed by other mechanics.

  • Perform clean-up duties in the work area as assigned.

  • Under close supervision, may be called upon to perform lesser skilled tasks.

  • Perform work based on current safety and housekeeping standards.

  • Secure parts and tools for use by other mechanics.

  • Ability to diagnose and repair truck and/or trailer breakdowns.

  • Capable of working with little or no supervision.

  • Work with all mechanics providing assistance as directed.

  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections without supervision.

  • Perform simple mechanical repairs as directed by other mechanics.

  • Perform clean-up duties in the work area as assigned.

  • Under close supervision, may be called upon to perform higher skilled tasks.

  • Perform work based on current safety and housekeeping standards.

  • Secure parts and tools for use by other mechanics.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have high school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a heavy duty automotive technician.

  • Must possess ASE certifications: T-7 HVAC, E-1 Truck Equipment Installation and Repair, E-3 Auxiliary Power Systems Install and Repair, T-5 Suspension and Steering, T-3 Drive Train, T-8 Preventative Maintenance, T-6 Electrical, E-2 Electrical and T-4 brakes. All certifications must be maintained while employed with Crestwood.

  • Extensive knowledge and thorough proficiency in the repair of steering, suspension, brake, frame, axle and electrical cryogenic systems.

  • Must have valid driver's license in order to operate company vehicles and equipment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to effectively communicate.

  • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated and able to work with little supervision while maintaining goals/tasks.

  • Must possess sound reasoning skills and be able to multi-task and maintain focus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to use a computer terminal - hand dexterity.

  • Able to work through all types of weather conditions and long work schedules.

  • Able to push, pull, lift, reach and/or carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Able to drive a company vehicle with standard equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position will typically work in a shop environment with the potential for exposure to temperature changes, chemicals, grease and oil.

  • Climbing ladder/scaffolds and working from elevated surfaces may be required.
