Job Description:


You will responsible for the preventive maintenance, troubleshooting repairs and/or modifications work for our vehicle fleet.


  • 1-2 years recent fleet, automotive, or truck vehicle maintenance experience, Can be in school working toward becoming a mechanic.

  • Operational knowledge of diesel equipment and tools normally associated with the troubleshooting and repairs of gasoline and diesel truck equipment

  • Knowledge of truck electrical and air-conditioning systems required

  • Knowledge of International 4700 Series medium-duty truck preferred

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Possess a valid commercial drivers license and meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations

In this role, you will primarily be responsible for supervising and performing maintenance and recovery operations on wheeled vehicles in the field and in the shop. Your duties will include inspecting, servicing, maintaining, repairing, testing, adjusting, and replacing of systems and components; performing recovery operations, and servicing electrical systems; including wiring harness and charging systems. Job Duties * Maintain wheeled vehicles associated trailers and material handling equipment systems * Service automotive electrical systems, including wiring harness, and starting and charging systems Helpful Skills * Interest in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems * Interest in automotive engines and how they work Through your training, you will develop the skills and experience to enjoy a civilian career with service stations, auto dealers, farm equipment companies, and state highway agencies. You'll be able to pursue a career as a mechanic who works on carburetors, transmissions, radiators, construction equipment, or endless track vehicles. Earn While You Learn Instead of paying to learn these skills, get paid to train. In the Army National Guard, you will learn these valuable job skills while earning a regular paycheck and qualifying for tuition assistance. Job training requires 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT). Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field.
