Receives work orders, diagnoses trouble and performs work as required.
Notifies Lead Maintenance Mechanic and/or Maintenance Manager to any trouble of a complex nature.
Diagnoses and makes repairs or adjustments to plant needs, production equipment and water treatment plant equipment such as: hot melt, dryers, tenter frames, pumps, inspection equipment, building/facility, etc.
Performs preventive maintenance work as directed by Lead & Management.
Performs moderate amount of electrical work as directed by Lead & Management.
Keeps machinery clean and painted as required.
Removes snow/ice from designated areas using hand tools and tractor.
Maintains good housekeeping in the Shop and work area.
Follows all safety procedures and policies and advises Lead & Manager of any unsafe conditions.
Any other duties as requested by Lead & Manager.
Role Qualifications/Essential Skills and Experience:
Possess and maintain general knowledge of plant equipment, gas dryers, tenter frames, hot melt, etc.
Proficiency in the use of various hand, power shop, plumbing and welding tools, cleaning and painting equipment.
Familiarity with various chemicals in the water treatment plant, lubricants, cleaning solvents, de-watered sludge.
Time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
Excellent communication skills.
