Hourly Rate (if applicable):
Under general supervision maintains, repairs and overhauls plant equipment as directed. Uses tools such as MIG, TIG and Stick welders to fabricate sheet metal projects from drawings. Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and safety procedures while performing job duties.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs a wide variety of mechanical maintenance and repair of production equipment and machinery using a variety of hand, gas and electrical powered tools
Engages in the welding and fabrication of parts as required
Responds to emergency calls and makes immediate repairs to prevent production down time
Participates in machinery trouble-shooting
Assembles and reassembles equipment; examines and tests mechanisms
Inspects and calibrates instrumentation.
Tests equipment and adjusts calibration to ensure equipment is functioning is within specified standards.
Interprets technical documents (prints, manuals) as required.
Promotes occupational safety standards; gives others feedback on their safety performance.
Performs electrical installations; installs wiring and conduit safely in compliance with company, state, and federal regulations.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum level of education required
Minimum number of year(s) of experience required in addition to education plus type(s) of functional experience
Other required type(s) of functional experience (e.g. Production/Operations, Accounting, Forklift Operator, Inventory Control, etc.)
Skilled in fabricating items using a welder and sheet metal
Experience interpreting and acting on written and verbal job instructions and reports, technical manuals and data.
Knowledge of general maintenance activities and procedures
Experience operating company vehicles and equipment such as (e.g. forklift, man-lift, crane, etc.)
Total minimum number of years of experience required in lieu of degree (if applicable)
Other job requirements (e.g. certifications/licenses, CPG experience, work overtime/weekends, etc.)
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES (Specialized education, specific software experience, etc.)
Experience working with automation equipment
Experience determining causes of machine downtime, poor quality or performance
Experience installing support equipment, machines, hoses, basic wiring, and lubrication

The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operates machines, such as lathes, drill presses, power saws, and mills where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach; performs mechanical or skilled trades tasks of a non-repetitive nature, such as carpenter, technicians, service people, plumbers, painters, mechanics, etc.
The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. The worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity. The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level. The worker is subject to vibration. Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body. The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. The worker is frequently in close quarters, crawl spaces, shafts, man holes, small enclosed rooms, small sewage and line pipes, and other areas that could cause claustrophobia.
