Job Summary

AMENTUM is currently seeking a qualified Production Team Lead (NON UNION in support of U.S. Air Force maintenance operations at Holloman AFB NM. This contract consists of F-16 Block 40 aircraft organizational level (O-level) assigned to the 54th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (54AMXS), 8th Aircraft Maintenance Units (AMU) contractor operation and Intermediate level (I-Level) supplementing the 54th Maintenance Squadron (54 MXS) and 49 MXS to support flying training for the 56th Fighter Wing (56 FW), 54th Fighter Group (54 FG), training mission at Holloman AFB (HAFB), NM.

The Production Team Lead will be the main POC for the daily operatations of the maintenance support for the Amentum Holloman Team

Essential responsibilities:

1.Responsible to the Production Superintendent on shift.

2.Ensures maintenance is accomplished in accordance with established technical orders and coordinates on all aircraft maintenance actions.

3 Remains on the flightline when maintenance personnel are performing flightline maintenance and launching/recovering aircraft to controls and coordinates maintenance activities.

4.Works in conjunction with the Production Cell Expediter, SE/Quality SCA, SE/Quality member, and Out-of-Hide QA Augmentee to manage Production Team requirements.

5.Enforces safe maintenance practices.

6.Lead Shift Roll Calls, release personnel for breaks, lunch, End-of-day.

7.Coordinate and approve overtime requests.

8.Coordinate and conduct interviews for discipline as required.

9.Attends the daily/weekly/monthly maintenance planning meetings.



  1. Responsible for identifying, assembling, and managing resources to include critical equipment items.

  2. Ensures supply pickup for critical parts to expedite repairs if non-mission capable aircraft.

  3. Monitors aircraft maintenance in progress and evaluates estimated completion time against scheduling and planning requirements.

  4. Coordinates with the Weapons Expediter, ensure requirements in AFMAN 21-201 for flightline munitions accountability are strictly followed.

  5. Coordinate with supervisors to select workers and assign tasks to be performed.

  6. Reviews work in progress or upon completion for compliance with policies and procedures.

  7. Ensures utilization of proper tools and equipment and adherence to technical data in performance of maintenance.

  8. Ensures aircraft status is accurately reported in accordance with Air Force instructions, reports, and applicable supplements.

  9. Works closely with the expediter and MOC to ensure that actual aircraft status matches the aircraft status reported in the automated reporting system.

  10. Maintains and has available for immediate use copies of the following as a minimum: Flying schedule, Emergency action and functional checklists, Base grid map with cordon overlay, IPI listings, MESL, Quick Reference List (QRL) (if developed), WUC manual, and tracking device for aircraft status.

  11. Follows established Cannibalization procedures and ensure all CANNs are accurately documented in the aircraft/system forms and MIS and coordinated with MOC, Supply and approved by authorized Production Superintendent.

  12. May verify Mission Capable (MICAP) requisitions.

  13. Understands, executes, and coordinates specific disaster control duties with regard to movement of aircraft, support equipment, and evacuation of flightline personnel. Decisions will be made based on safeguarding personnel first, followed by protecting aircraft, equipment, and other resources.


Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a High School graduate or equivalent with a minimum eight (8) years actual maintenance experience is required. 1 year of F-16 or other fighter aircraft experience required. 1 to 2 years Flightline experance.

  • Must have completed military aviation maintenance training curriculum.

  • Must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft daily sorities.

  • Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks.

  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and a government background check.

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

This contract consists of F-16 Block 40 aircraft Organizational level (O-level) assigned to the 49th Maintenance Group, 8th Aircraft Maintenance Units (AMU) contractor operation and Intermediate level (I-Level) to support flying training for the 49th Wing (49 WG), Air Education and Training Command (AETC) training mission at Holloman AFB (HAFB), NM. The Aircraft Mechanic 3 Crew Chief maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components, and applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation. Essential responsibilities: * Applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals. * Work typically requires a thoroughly comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems. * This worker will be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records, and is responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts. May be required to perform other duties as assigned. Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
