Responsibilities will include:

• Stocking, food handling, cleaning and helping customers - all general aspects of maintaining the department

• Representing our quality products with expertise and enthusiasm

• Learning about meat products and communicating your knowledge to customers

• Promoting our products via suggestive selling techniques

• Working with department equipment such as grinders, scales, slicers and knives;

no big, scary meat saws (they scare us, too)

• Making sure meat cases are well-stocked and look showroom-worthy-after all, it's Dierbergs, and our customers have fine taste

• Unlike the restaurant businesses, there are no late nights here; you'll generally work no later than 9pm.

What you need to succeed

• A friendly, "customers-first" attitude to provide best-in-class service that Dierbergs is known for

• Basic math and computer skills

• Ability to work in varied temperature-controlled environments (refrigerator and freezer)

• Ability to follow safety and food-handling guidelines and keep your work area safe and clean

• Flexibility to work a varied schedule that includes weekends and holidays
