Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform meter proving tasks on Coriolis, Positive Displacement, Turbine & Ultrasonic Flow Meters

  • Understand and comprehend the operation of a Small Volume Prover and a Pipe prover.

  • Ensure measurement and quality control practices are in compliance pertaining to custody measurement, device calibrations and product quality assurance

  • Promptly and accurately performs measurement and completes required paperwork and distributes copies daily

  • Perform various mathematical calculations associated with meter proving calculations and analyze meter performance and other analytical data to assist in accurate measurement

  • Ensure that all equipment is in good operating condition and calibration is verified, correct, & clean

  • Operate and maintain a company vehicle and tools in a safe and efficient manner

  • Operate and move (pulling/backing) gooseneck proving trailer

  • Maintain regular communication with office staff regarding job status, problems, concerns, etc.

  • Interact with customers and co-workers at a professional level

  • Identify, report and correct safety and environmental concerns

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • Basic computer skills

  • Basic math skills

  • Valid state driver's license with good driving record

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Problem-solving skills and a technical aptitude

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-tasking team

  • Ability to follow specific, step-by-step instructions, standard procedures, & operating guidelines

  • Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship required

Position Requirements

  • Depending on location and workload, driving moderate distances, encountering inclement weather and adverse conditions

  • Must have flexible schedule and be able to work extended or abnormal hours (evenings, weekend, holiday) when needed to meet business commitments

  • Make repairs and/or measurements in the field under adverse conditions

  • Able to frequently climb to and work from elevation platforms, ladders, stairwells, etc.

  • Ability to travel, including some nights and weekends

  • Pre-employment physical, drug and alcohol testing, annual physical, random drug test

  • Able to handle emergency situations, including possible exposure to explosive environment on occasion

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of liquid measurement experience in the petroleum industry or a minimum of two years of advanced technical education, or experience in instrumentation, electronics, or measurement applications regardless of industry

  • Familiarity working with software including PROVEit and Excel

  • Knowledge of flow meters and meter provers

  • Strong working knowledge of API Standards and RPs as they pertain to liquid measurement

  • Knowledge with crude oil custody transfer procedures; sampling, operation, density and temperature obtained via hydrometer, and ticket writing

  • Instrumentation background and knowledge of pipeline and terminal equipment

  • Intermediate computer skills including experience with spreadsheets and data trending

Work Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50lbs

  • Work in inclement weather conditions (including snow, rain & cold)

  • Able to work with routine exposure to all weather conditions, dirty/greasy equipment, hot equipment and noise

  • Able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch for extended periods of time

  • Must be able to travel to multiple locations directly from home / office and travel daily.

  • Organized and self-motivated

  • Consistent positive and professional attitude

  • Must be coachable, punctual, reliable, honest, and transparent

The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.

Role Summary: Baker Hughes has an opening for a Pump Technician to support Rod Lift in Dickinson, ND. This position aids and assists the team of employees to assemble and disassemble down hole equipment for sale and delivery of product. It includes employee and customer interaction to supply product and information to the customer. Essential Responsibilities: * Assembly of new down hole pumps, anchors, de-sanders, etc. for delivery to customers * Disassembly of used equipment for repair or disposal * Follows standard practices and procedures when conducting technical maintenance and the preventative/predictive maintenance on down-hole tools and products * Driving company vehicle for delivery and recovery of equipment * Interaction with other employees and customers * Perform work according to safety rules, regulations, and company policies * Working in a team, performing other related duties as instructed by supervisor * Work schedule is 1st shift, rotating on call as needed Qualifications/Requirements: * High School Diploma or GED * Possess knowledge of basic mechanical parts as well as comprehensive mechanical, diagnostic and analytical skills * Must have basic mechanical skills for working with tools * A basic understanding of the form and function of assembly components * Must be able to accurately use measuring instruments * Must have basic computer skills * Repetitive use of hands and wrists while using hand tools * Must be capable of wearing a respirator and required PPE * Must possess a valid driver's license * Communication skills to be able to talk with fellow employees and customers * Cognitive thinking - be able to figure out any situation that arises Desired Characteristics: * Previous assembly or disassembly experience Locations: Dickinson, ND Baker Hughes Dickinson ND
