We are currently looking for a Measurement Specialist/ Sr. Measurement Specialist for our Petersburg, IN office.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

JOB SUMMARY:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the calibration, gas sampling, testing, operation and maintenance, etc. of Texas Gas's measurement facilities location near Petersburg, IN and surrounding areas. The measurement facilities include, but are not limited to, positive meters, turbine meters, rotary meters, ultrasonic, and orifice meters, flow computers, samplers, communication devices, regulators, relief valves, valves and valve actuators, transmitters, gas quality monitoring, and automated tank gauging equipment. This position will also be responsible for environmental, health and safety and reliability for natural gas transmission through the pipeline system, along with recognition and reporting of abnormal and safety related operation conditions, accident and near miss reporting, performing emergency response procedures, preforming regulatory compliance procedures, and performing repair procedures. This position is responsible for traveling to other districts whenever the need arises. Will regularly lead projects and have responsibility and authority to make decisions about equipment. Will be expected to respond to "call-outs". Shall demonstrate an ongoing proficiency in leadership and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities also include compliance documentation for assigned area. Also includes the successful completion of all the Operator Qualification tasks assigned specifically for this position.

This position will be located at our Petersburg, IN office. Normal work hours for this position are 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. weekdays; however, this position is subject to occasional callouts and schedule adjustments as necessary.

This position's primary area of responsibility will be at our Petersburg, IN operating area and successful candidate will be required to reside within 30 miles of this work location.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Individual must have excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel, as well as strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills and a strong ability for prioritizing and scheduling multiple projects.

  • This individual should also have experience with Microsoft programs as well as the ability to read, comprehend, and follow Company procedures and manufacturers guidelines.

  • Physical requirements of the role include the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet in order to transfer tools and equipment, the ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns, and the ability to work alone as required in extreme weather conditions including hot, cold, muddy, and wet environments.

  • Valid Driver's license with safe driving record is required and the ability to operate an all-terrain vehicle.

  • Must have a strong commitment to personal and Team safety.

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Gas Pipeline or Gas measurement experience

  • Instrumentation experience

  • Electrical experience

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

  • 2-year Technical degree or College
