ME Tech I

Position Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to support the daily manufacturing operations and processes in the facility. This will include maintaining and improving equipment in terms of safety, quality, and productivity. This position will develop programs and parameters for selected production processes. This position identifies and implements process improvements. This position will also be responsible for training associates.

Essential Functions:

• Developing knowledge of fabricating and welding systems and processes, then transferring that knowledge to the production personnel.

• Identify areas in which tooling, cleanliness, operation sequences or forming consistency can be improved to increase throughput or product quality.

• Develop process documentation and systems to maintain the same.

• Oversee part program modification for effectiveness and necessity.

• Oversee tooling and suggest and implement modification to improve system productivity.

• Decrease robotic cycle time by implementing the use of advanced welding technology.

• Assist in the development of quality systems for new products and processes.

• Implement adaptive pulse welding where required.

• Assist in daily troubleshooting of robotic problems.

• Support our program of increasing throughput while improving quality.

Education and Training

• Associates or bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering Technology, Electronics or other related program is strongly desired or equivalent professional experience.
• 2 - 5 years' experience in a MIG welding environment is preferred

Minimum Qualifications

• Robotic systems programming experience is preferred.

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

• Must be able to understand and monitor PLC programs.

• Strong communication and project organization skills.

• Must be able to multitask.

• Must have a strong mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting skills.
