JOB DESCRIPTION: Maneuver Battle Lab Operations Manager
- The Maneuver Battle Lab (MBL) Operations Manager is the primary staff employee responsible for synchronization of the organization's events, resources, and products. Working under the direct supervision of the Deputy Director, the Operations Manager maintains the unit master calendar, tracks due-outs to the higher organization headquarters, maintains personnel training requirements, synchronizes organizational resources, prepares weekly and monthly status reports, maintains and updates the organization's standard operating procedure, and coordinates and reports the status of taskings from higher headquarters.
The Operations Manager runs the organization's bi-weekly staff update. The Operations Manager works closely with the SAIC Program Manager, the organization's Strategic Planner, Executive Officer, Administrative Assistant, Resource Manager, Senior Analyst, Chief of the Live Experimentation Branch and the Chief of the Simulation Branch of the MBL. The Operations Manager perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Deputy Director.
The best-fit candidate will be a graduate of the U.S. Army Maneuver Captains Career Course or equivalent branch or service school. Best-fit candidates will have served on battalion or brigade staffs for at least 12 months in the operations section. He or she must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and must have strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent (4 years of experience accepted in lieu of degree) and 3-5 years of related experience.
Experienced writer with excellent communication skills.
Excellent reasoning skills.
Must be able to draft and edit weekly reports for GO and SES audience.
Must have excellent computer skills and be proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong interpersonal skills and be customer oriented as well as have the ability to operate independently.
- Must currently possess or be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance.
