At DICK'S Sporting Goods, interns have the opportunity to work with and learn from the leaders of a growing Fortune 400 company. During the 10-week summer experience, interns will take on meaningful work assignments within the organization and make tangible contributions to the organization's success.
During the program, interns will work closely with the leadership team of DICK'S Sporting Goods. Interns will be assigned to a senior leader who will act as a project sponsor for the length of the summer internship. The project will be assigned based on the incumbent's previous professional experience and career interests.
The intern will report directly to one of our Special Assistants to the CEO or COO, both of whom are MBAs. This reporting structure will aid in transitioning to the DSG corporate culture, exploration of career goals, day-to-day assistance with the project, and will provide the intern the opportunity to develop professional and social networks within the company and the retail industry. Additionally, the intern will be assigned to a "Department Manager," who will assist the intern with their project and assign additional ad hoc analysis/projects to provide a glimpse into what fulltime opportunities exist at DICK'S Sporting Goods.
Interns will also have the opportunity to meet with the CEO as well as most of the senior leadership team over the course of the summer. The final deliverable will be a presentation to the CEO and other senior leaders who are project stakeholders.
It is difficult to predict projects in advance due to the dynamic nature of our business, but past projects have included:
In-depth analysis and recommendations on growing the DSG Licensed business (NFL, NCAA, MLB, etc.)
Developing a comprehensive merchandising strategy for technical running
Strategic analysis of the female DSG customer
