Responsibilities/Expectations:

  • Applies principles, theories and concepts and solves complex problems

  • Uses best practices and knowledge of internal/external business issues to improve products, services or processes; takes a new perspective using existing solutions

  • Provides application software development services or technical support

  • Develops program logic for new applications or analyzes/modifies logic in existing applications

  • Codes, tests, debugs, documents, implements and maintains software applications

  • Analyzes requirements and maintains, tests and integrates application components

  • Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented

  • Provides systems analysis, design and development, including requirements, design, construction, testing and implementation

  • Works with the defined business and technical requirements to deliver software solutions

  • Adapts applications to serve user needs

  • Assists with information gathering and documentation, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and testing required ability to interact professionally with all levels of management

  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Years of Experience:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in IT-related field or equivalent experience and minimum five (5) years' IT experience

Other Requirements:

  • Experience in a technical background working in a developer role, preferably in Maximo

  • Strong programming skills (in any major language: Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, etc.)

  • Experience with web or mobile application development

  • Experience designing, developing, testing, and delivering technical requirements in a production system

  • Strong SQL skills

  • Ability to troubleshoot technical problems

  • Preferred: Experience with Maximo including use of the full suite of in-app development tools, use of Maximo Migration Manager to deploy changes, knowledge of the Maximo database and experience with integration tools and REST API; experience writing Jython Automation Scripts

  • Preferred: Azure Dev Ops for task and code management

  • Preferred: SSIS development experience

In this capacity, you will coordinate with Information Technology staff and End Users on requested Microsoft Dynamics 365 customizations, and will review the technical requirements to design, develop, test, implement, and maintain a solution. You'll analyze the needs and the environment to make sure the solution being developed considers the current architecture, design and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements. You'll participate in sprint development including disciplined testing (unit, functional, regression) and reviews as a continuous process, to avoid finding issues at the end of sprint development. Design and develop the features and capabilities, including source code, as work items in the repository that were established in the sprint plan. As part of the development process, create discrete test cases that can be automated to expedite platform testing. Your contributions will be vital to providing a positive, high quality user experience to our nation's veterans. The overall program supports the sustainment, operations, maintenance, and enhancement of the D365-based systems and their integrations with the VA's enterprise supporting Customer Relationship Management (CRM) suite utilized by 70,000 VA employees. Previous experience working with MS Dynamics 365 / Dynamics CRM /Dynamics Customer Experience (CE) applications) is required. Experience working in support of Federal, State, or Tribal Governments, or a health care client is highly desired. The candidate will regularly interact with VA business stakeholders, VA Line of Business leadership and VA central office client stakeholders, including the Veterans Experience Office (VEO) staff, VA OIT leadership, and COR, and is expected to document and report any issues that arise. This position will be remote with limited support required in vendor facilities and/or a government site. Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the: * Learn and optimize customer-related business processes of the VA's MS Dynamics 365 CRM application suite. * Perform as a developer for the delivery of Dynamics 365 configuration, custom assembly development, integration code and data migration scripts * Perform design and development of full-lifecycle development efforts which are based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 / CRM, Canvas or Model Driven frameworks * Lead the development of user stories, use cases and design artifacts to effectively convey requirements to both client stakeholders and development teams * Contribute to the VA's development best practices and Dynamics customization standards to be utilized on Dynamics 365-based projects * Participate in code reviews to ensure that customization code quality is at the highest level possible and appropriate design patterns are being followed * Maintain, manage, develop, and design MS Dynamics CRM applications * Customize and optimize CRM applications in support of business functions * Provide front-end Dynamics CRM development capabilities * Support internal users on the use of Dynamics CRM * Deliver quality code and fixes, on time, with rigorous testing * Document design, tasks, bugs, user stories, requirements * Assist with unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing prior to production deployment * Support system interruptions and ticket resolutions in customer required timeframes * Support to DevOps development teams test planning and execution; * Support review and risk assessment of Change Requests; * Communication of any issues, problems, or risks to leadership with recommended solutions; * Meeting attendance with program personnel and VA stakeholders and support to reporting efforts; * Preparation of ad-hoc reports and presentations for PMO and VA personnel, and; * Utilization of professional judgement, critical thinking skills and research to resolve issues affecting system performance.
