Minimum Education Requirement:

Degree: that included 24 semester hours of mathematics and statistics, of which at least 12 semester hours were in mathematics and 6 semester hours were in statistics.


Combination of education and experience -- at least 24 semester hours of mathematics and statistics, including at least 12 hours in mathematics and 6 hours in statistics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.


In addition to meeting the Basic Entry Requirements above, applicants must have the experience listed below.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal services.

Experience for this position includes experience designing, planning and implementing production, research, and evaluation projects for survey activities using mathematical statistical theory and statistical methodology. Experience with implementing statistical methods such as record linkage, coding, coverage measurement, and quality control measures. Experience providing leadership while meeting programs goals and objectives. Demonstrated experience using statistical computing software.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
