Job Summary Job Title: Math/ELA Specialist Reports to:

Director Evaluated by: Director Work Schedule: Full time, exempt; in accordance with academic school calendar.

Compensation: Commensurate with education & experience in accordance with the BOCC Salary Schedule Math/ELA Specialist Description:To assist students needing extra support in reading and math, provide staff development and classroom coaching for reading and math instruction and coordinate school-wide ELA and math assessments. Primary Function Mathematics: To provide remedial and honors mathematics instruction for students performing below and above grade level.

Assist teachers with the identification of students, implementation of services, family conferences, staff development, and tracking of student remediation progress. Lead curriculum teams for the purpose of choice and implementation of curriculum. Primary Function ELA:

To provide remedial, at level and advanced ELA instruction for students performing below and above grade level.

Assist teachers with the identification of students, implementation of services, family conferences, staff development, and tracking of student remediation progress. Lead curriculum teams for the purpose of choice and implementation of curriculum Additional Expectations:

To test and support English Learner (EL) students and conduct any ELPAC testing. Training and support will be provided for ELPAC testing. Communication with EL families on student progress periodically throughout the school year.

Requirements / Qualifications Required: Copy of valid CA teaching credential Resume 3 Letters of recommendation Preferred: Waldorf certification, education, training or experience Knowledge of and experience with Waldorf methods such as pedagogical theory and practice Prior experience as a reading intervention and/or math intervention teacher Major Responsibilities and Duties: Instructional Strategies Analyze student achievement data and use res
